Falloway set to grab crowd's attention

Tranby Oval will vibrate with the sounds of alternative rock on Saturday as Canning Vale band Falloway take the headline spot at the first Party in the Park.

Guitarist Kieron Alford said visitors to the event, which is expected to draw crowds of up to 2000, could expect an interesting, interactive and attention-grabbing show.

He said the four-piece formed to compete in a Battle of the Bands at Canning Vale College in 2010.

After taking second place, Kieron, bassist Sandun Welisara, drummer Cristian Galindo and singer Graeme White went their separate ways, but resurrected the act two years ago.

Kieron said the guys had never looked back and the band had gone from strength to strength, playing gigs across the metropolitan area.

"A fallow is a field that has been killed off and grows back - I suppose that was what we were trying to get at when we picked the name," Kieron said.

"All of us have a passion for music and some of us were studying music production and others engineering when we decided to give it another go."

Kieron said the band had collaborated to produce a set full of original tracks, which they planned to release as an EP later in the year.

Pop down between 2pm and 9pm for music, rides, food and competitions for the kids.
