Church fete celebrates 30th anniversary
St George's Anglican Church will celebrate its 30th annual fete at the Lion's Park tomorrow.
The fete raises more than $10,000 each year for the church and other programs in the community.
Di Gillett, of St George'sAnglican Church, said this year's fete, to be held from 8.30am to 1pm, was especially important for the church.
"It's an excellent milestone for the church - we've seen the church and the community grow in the time we've been holding it," she said.
"We have some people who have been involved in the fete since it first started and since then we have raised a lot of money for the church and the community.
"The St George church is growing all the time and we are still in the process of finishing our community centre, so the money from the fete will go towards that project, as well as programs in the community we are working on."
