Lamb, pig carcass stolen in $5000 raid on butcher

A lamb and a pig carcass were among $5000 worth of meat stolen from a Geraldton butcher.

Geraldton police allege the offender/s smashed a rear window to gain entry to Gearing Butchers, Bluff Point, between 5.30pm yesterday and 7am today.

Scotch fillets, silverside, sausages, 20kg mince and 20kg chicken fillets were also stolen from the store’s cool room.

Senior Sergeant Shilo O’Neill said it was a “serious issue”.

She said police were continuing with inquiries.
