Child treated for jellyfish sting

A child in North West WA has been released from hospital after it was initially feared he was stung by a box jellyfish.

Paramedics took the child to Exmouth Hospital where it was found to be a bluebottle sting.

The incident happened in Cape Range National Park about 11am.

The child was treated and has since been discharged.
