Mystery Australind Lotto win

ONE lucky person purchased a lottery ticket worth more than $2.7 million from Australind Newsagency after it was revealed WA's only winner was sold in the Greater Bunbury region.

The New Year's draw worth $30 million was held on Saturday, with 11 winners across the nation.

Australind Newsagency on Old Coast Road sold the winning ticket and proprietor David Anderson was yesterday still unaware of who had purchased it.

"We did win the same one three years ago, but I think this is bigger," Mr Anderson said.

"We are certainly letting everyone know who comes in store we have a sold a lucky winner."

Lotterywest spokeswoman Pina Compagnone said it was a great result to see WA share in the multi-million dollar prize pool as there had been a lot of support by local players for the Megadraw.

Ms Compagnone said the weekend's result could see "Lady Luck" return to WA in 2015.
