Disney classic is sure to captivate Kwinana

Relive the romance and magic of Disney favourite Beauty and the Beast at Koorliny Arts Centre in February.

Directed by Katherine Freind, the first production in the Koorliny Arts Centre's performance season is the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical known as the "tale as old as time".

Audiences will be swept into the romantic fairytale of the Beast who can be saved only by love in this lavish musical.

It boasts colourful costumes and gorgeous scenery, plus all the songs people know and love.

The cast includes actors from across Perth, including Finn Alexander as the Beast, Stacey Hollings as Belle, Peter Shaw as Maurice and Jesse Watts as Gaston.

Freind said the lush stage performance is set to delight.

"Beauty and the Beast is a beautiful story with lovely music and larger-than-life characters," she said.

"We have an extremely talented group of people which makes our job easy."

Disney Beauty and the Beast boasts musical direction by Justin Freind and choreography by Sue Cunnell.

It is based on the book by Linda Woolverton, with music by Alan Menken, and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice.

It will show on February 13, 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28 at 7.30pm, and February 21, 22 and 28 at 2pm.

Tickets cost $25 standard, $23 concession and $18 children.
