Teenager charged with attempted murder

A man accused of running down a police officer during a car chase through Logan on Wednesday will spend Christmas behind bars.

Brian Lafaitele made a brief appearance in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.

The 17-year-old has been charged with attempted murder and did not apply for bail.

Lafaitele's brother, Faatausili Lafaitele, spoke to Seven News outside Court.

He described his brother's actions as wrong.

"What he did was wrong but on behalf of me and the family we would like to apologise to the cop," said Faatausili Lafaitele.

Two other teenagers charged over Wednesday's incident have also been denied bail.

The trio will face court again next month.
