Blacklist star set for Cup

Ryan Eggold of hit US drama The Blacklist will be Seven's special guest at the Melbourne Cup tomorrow.

The 30-year-old California native actor will spend Cup Day in the Emirates marquee in the Birdcage and then travel to Sydney for promotional duties for The Blacklist.

"I've never been to Australia and jumped at the opportunity to go because it's somewhere I've always wanted to see," Eggold said.

"I've met many an Aussie, heard many beautiful things and am excited to see this part of the world."

Eggold plays Tom Keen, deceptive ex-husband of rookie FBI profiler Liz Keen (Megan Boone), who was supposedly shot dead by Liz in last season's gripping finale, only for his body to disappear.
