Total fire ban for SA

A total fire ban has been declared across five districts in South Australia.

The state's Country Fire Service (CFS) is recommending that those in the affected districts implement their Bushfire Survival Plan, with very hazardous fire weather conditions predicted for Sunday.

An extreme fire danger rating has been forecast for the Northwest Pastoral district.

A severe fire danger rating has been forecast for the Northeast Pastoral, Flinders, Mount Lofty Ranges, and Lower South East districts.

The CFS says only well prepared, well-constructed and actively defended houses are likely to offer safety during a fire in an area declared to have an extreme rating.

The CFS says those without a plan should leave early, before a fire starts, to ensure survival.
