Boy found after disappearing on train

A 10-year-old boy who went missing after he got on a train in Melbourne and the doors shut before his mother could follow him has been found safe and well.

Lakotom Pio Leggali ran ahead of his mother at Noble Park Railway Station and boarded a Cranbourne-bound train on Friday evening, but the doors shut before she could follow him onto the carriage.

CCTV cameras showed Lakotom at Dandenong Railway Station 10 minutes later, but police appealed for the public's help when they were unable to find him.

He was found in Hampton Park several hours later and has been reunited with his family.
