Corby's boyfriend arrested in Bali on drug charges

Convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby may have breached her parole conditions after her boyfriend was arrested on drugs charges.

Police say Ben Panangian, 32, was allegedly caught with marijuana in a Bali street, and more drugs were found inside a wardrobe at his Kuta home.

It is understood Panangian faces a maximum 12 years behind bars.

Panangian was reportedly arrested in Nusa Dua on August 20.

Corby was released from jail in February but must stay away from drugs and crime as part of her parole conditions, which also require her to stay in Bali under monthly supervision.

But a Denpasar police spokesman would not confirm whether Corby would be investigated, saying the pair's relationship was not clear.

The pair met while they were both serving time at Kerobokan Prison for drug offences.

Panangian was allegedly busted by police while they were conducting another raid in Nusa Dua, News Corp reports.

It is also reported Panangian threw two packages on the street after he was approached by officers.

Pictures emerged on Friday of six prisoners paraded before Denpasar police as part of a major drug bust.

Some reports claim the sting was a set-up due to Corby's high profile.

A Denpasar police spokesman on Friday would not confirm whether Corby would be investigated, saying the pair's relationship was not clear.

He was released from prison ahead of Corby, but since her release in February, they have been photographed together in Kuta.
