After gaining 70kg over the past few years through over-indulgence, Ned Leithhead's life was heading into dangerous territory.

The 29-year-old lost his dream job driving trucks up in Broome because of his weight and his health was deteriorating as he tipped the scales at 171kg.

So to get his life back on track, Leithhead signed up for Seven's new reality makeover show Bringing Sexy Back.

Over the course of five months, Sunrise co-host Samantha Armytage and personal trainer Cameron Byrnes helped transform Leithhead as he lost 46kg.

Last night, viewers saw the amazing results and watched as Leithhead's girlfriend Becky broke down in tears as she accepted his marriage proposal.

But it wasn't just the weight loss that excited Becky when she saw the new-look Leithhead for the first time.

"My beard was the biggest thing I think because I had that massive beard and she couldn't tell what my face looked like," Leithhead told AAA.

"I was shocked as s… when I first saw my face."

After winning back his job driving road trains to remote WA areas, Leithhead said he had managed to lose even more weight since filming wrapped and was on the way to his goal weight of 100kg.

"You have got to keep well and truly motivated. It wasn't until the Sexy team came along and kicked my butt into gear and taught me how to do it properly, I knew I had a hold of it," he said.

"They just educated me on how my body works. I eat probably twice as much food now compared to when I was putting on weight. I eat all the right food at the right time. It is just education and I think people need to be taught at a young age.

"I am having a ball now educating other truck drivers."

Becky is now living with him up in Broome but the couple are yet to set a wedding date.

"We are just getting our lives back on track. I got my job back and am filling my pockets back up. Becky has got a job and moved to Broome to be with me," he said.

"We have a house and a little puppy, everything is going swimmingly - we just haven't put a date on the wedding yet but everything is going sensationally."
