Brisbane man faces explosives charges

A man has been charged with manufacturing explosives at a home in Brisbane's north.

Police made a public safety declaration, affecting properties around the Brighton home, on Wednesday night.

It was cancelled about two hours later, with police saying a number of unspecified items had been found at the property.

A 37-year-old Brighton man has been charged with unlawful deposition of explosives, manufacturing explosives and having no authority to possess explosives.

He's due to face the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.
