Much-loved tunes from across four decades will fill Rustico Tapas and Bar next week when acoustic queen Nat Ripepi returns.

The Perth-based musician will play a mixture of covers and original songs in her three-hour gig and said she loved playing to her Rockingham fans.

“I love all music,” she said.

“When I hear a song that I really love, it’s great to pick up the guitar and sing along.

“I like the easy-listening tunes, the songs everyone knows and can sing along to.” Expect to hear hits from Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman and Lorde, with a focus on songs that defined the 1990s.

Ripepi said her original songs were autobiographical, drawing upon the highs and lows of her life, including her fight with ovarian cancer.

Her last album was released four years ago, prior to her diagnosis. She has since produced award-winning singles which have attracted airplay in the US, but has not ruled out another album.

“There are always plans,” Ripepi said.

“I thought at the time the latest album was my last.

“I’ve thought about doing music differently.”
