Pop starlet Jade to headline KidsFest

Kalgoorlie-Boulder will be the number one destination for children during the coming school holidays with award-winning singer Samantha Jade headlining the Goldfields KidsFest.

Jade will be the star attraction for the under-12s event taking place on July 5 and 6.

The event also includes live performances by Peppa Pig and Scooby-Doo.

Presented by Go for 2&5, the second annual City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Goldfields KidsFest will feature an intergalactic fantasy theme and include activities in 13 special focus areas including sports and fitness, a splash zone, arts and crafts, science, music and dance, mining and construction, outdoor activities, a kids' kitchen and a special under-fives area.

Last year's inaugural event, headlined by Johnny Ruffo, saw more than 10,000 children from across the region attend.

Mayor Ron Yuryevich said the City was working hard to ensure the KidsFest became the premier event for under-12s on the regional events calendar.

"The City is continuing to work towards being a family- friendly city that is a great place to live, work and play, and the Goldfields KidsFest is another step towards that," he said.

Jade fans over the age of 12 will not miss out on all the fun, with organisers allowing children over 12 to attend with family, but not participate in the free festival activities.
