Trainer bitten by tiger at Australia Zoo

A 30-year-old man has been bitten on the neck by a tiger at Australia Zoo.

It is believed the trainer sustained serious injuries, and was said to be bleeding profusely from two puncture wounds to his neck.

The CareFlight helicopter is treating the victim, and is expected to transport him to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for further treatment.

Australia Zoo Tweeted this this afternoon: "One of our senior tiger handlers was bitten during a demo. He is stable and recovering in hospital. Our support is with him and his family."

The man's bleeding is in a serious condition, but his bleeding is under control, he's conscious and breathing.

Australia Zoo offers visitors photos with the tigers at 3:15pm every day for $400 per person.

On the zoo's website it has a list of rules for visitors who partake in the photo sessions.

"Please remember that Big Cats are predatory animals and are quite capable of exercising their natural instincts," rule number 12 says.
