Katy Perry announces Prismatic world tour

Pop star Katy Perry has announced Swedish duo Icona Pop as the support act on the UK leg of her Prismatic World Tour.

Perry announced on Monday the first dates of her much-anticipated world tour.

"THEPRISMATICWORLDTOUR is coming May 2014! First stop: UK! Tix on sale FRIDAY, 11/22," she Tweeted.

"I'm bringing my friends iconapop to Belfast, Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield and LONDON! (sic)" she wrote

Perry, 29, will perform her first show on May 7 in Belfast and then move onto venues in cities such as Liverpool and Sheffield, before finishing up at The O2 Arena in London.

Careful not to alienate her fans around the world, the star assured fans more dates would be announced in the near future.

"DON'T WORRY - more GLOBAL tour dates coming soon! I can't wait to get closer to ALL of you than ever before! THEPRISMATICWORLDTOUR (sic)," she wrote.

Icona Pop was formed by Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo in 2009. Their biggest hit is I Love It.
