Guilty plea to killing taxi driver, passenger

A man has pleaded guilty to killing a Perth taxi driver and his passenger who died when a stolen car ploughed into their cab.

Antony Edwards Fogarty, 24, today pleaded guilty to the manslaugher of 28-year-old taxi driver Kuldeep Singh and his passenger, British scientist Sean Barrett, 36, in Kewdale in October last year.

Mr Barrett had been in Australia less than an hour when he died, after Mr Singh had picked him up in his taxi at Perth Airport.

Fogarty is alleged to have driven a stolen car which ploughed into Mr Singh's taxi.

He was remanded in custody to appear in the Supreme Court for sentencing in January.
