Baby Olivia is the perfect gift for Father’s Day

James Edmondson, Nicola Wright and Freya Edmondson were delighted to welcome the newest addition to their family, Olivia Debra, on Father’s Day.

James Edmondson received the perfect Father’s Day present when his wife Nicola Wright gave birth to their second daughter on Sunday.

At 11.13am, the Baldivis couple welcomed a healthy girl, Olivia Debra, weighing 3.51kg.

Mr Edmondson said he was “over the moon” about his Father’s Day gift and was excited Olivia waited until Sunday to come into the world.

“She was holding out for a special appearance — it’s definitely a story we’ll tell her and I don’t think we’ll be able to top this,” he said.

Freya Edmondson, 8, said she was happy to have a little sister and had many toys that she was ready to share. Ms Wright said she was relieved Olivia was happy and healthy after being three days overdue.

“I went into labour at 5am on Sunday and by 11am she was here,” she said.

Olivia was the only baby to be born on Father’s Day at Rockingham General Hospital and Ms Wright agreed with her husband that their daughter was special.

Mr Edmondson said the family opened his presents Sunday night after he and Freya got home and said he received some special gifts but a baby girl was the clear winner.

“I was meant to be flying back to work that day so we all got to be together for the day — nothing could beat that,” he said.
