Church offers supernatural course to 'cure cancer'

An evangelical church in Queensland has claimed its "supernatural" course can teach people to perform miracles like curing cancer.

Westlife Church in Ipswich has opened a 'School of the Supernatural' offering a six-month course it says will empower students to bring the dead back to life, help women conceive, and even cure cancer through prayers.

"Supernatural schools are designed to equip students to 'live and do' in the supernatural through biblical teaching and practical application - to see God's kingdom manifested on earth. This is an environment where people can take risks in learning to operate in the supernatural without fear of rejection or failure," the Church website states.

Westlife Church manager Yvonne Baker told The Queensland Times that several "miracles" had already been performed at the church and that there were "high hopes" the teachings would do more.

According to the report, 70 people have already enrolled themselves for the course. However, there’s no mention of the course fee or the course structure on the website.

The course is said to be based on the controversial teachings of radical pastor Bill Johnson who runs the Bethel Church in California.
