Massive spider emerges from behind mirror in Gold Coast home

A Gold Coast man got the shock of his life when a massive huntsman spider crawled out from behind his bathroom mirror.

It's the sort of thing arachnophobes have nightmares about, but the fact that this giant spider was inside the house wasn't the worst aspect.

When the man sprayed the spider with water, it fell to the floor, scurried away, and he was not able to locate where it had gone.

Last week a massive spider gave a Sunshine Coast family the horrors when it appeared on a glass door as they were cooking dinner - thankfully this time outside the house rather than in it.

So hideous was the spider that when the family cat was held up to the glass to look at the arachnid, even it was spooked by the massive creature.
