Boy admits raping eight-year-old boy at knifepoint

A 10-year-old boy has admitted to raping an eight-year-old child at knife point at a Perth park.

The boy admitted to the rape and threatening to kill the younger boy in an attack in Perth's north in December.

The alleged attacker is attending an school in the city's north that cannot be named for legal reasons.

Parents of other students at the school have said they are furious they weren't informed of the boy's alleged crime, and claim they found out on Facebook.

"I feel like the system has failed us, the Education Department has failed us and the school needs to seriously sort out a better policy for all the children involved," one angry parent said.

Around 50 parents attended a meeting at the school.

The West Australian Education Department has refused to comment on the case as it is still before the courts.

The eight-year-old victim does not attend the same school as the alleged attacker.

The 10-year-old child will appear in the Perth Children's Court for a pre-sentence hearing on Tuesday.
