He then called paramedics to the home, claiming she had fallen, and Ms Tung was taken to hospital but she died from internal injuries.

After an extensive investigation, 37-year-old O'Malley was arrested on Wednesday morning.

Police allege Ms Tung had been assaulted before the alleged attack that killed her.

O'Malley is the third Queensland man charged over a domestic murder in less than a week.

“I know that when the murders of Tara Brown and Karina Lock happened in September last year, we were also quite concerned that it could open some floodgates, hoping it wouldn't - but I think it has,” she said.

A Red Rose Rally in memory of the women has been organised for Thursday outside Parliament House.

The rallies are held in the state when a woman loses her life as a result of domestic violence, but campaigners have said due to the number of recent alleged murders, they are planning an even bigger public rally to be held outside Brisbane Supreme Court next Thursday.
