Queensland woman attacked by crocodile

Police and ambulance officers have rushed to a Townsville animal sanctuary after a woman was attacked by a crocodile.

The female handler from Billabong Sanctuary suffered severe arm injuries and has been transported to hospital in a stable condition.

Eight people are also being treated for shock.

The attacked occurred on Muntalunga Drive Nome at around 3.30pm on Monday.

The croc who reportedly attacked the woman is named Tipper.

The 25-year-old woman attacked was believed to be a 'spotter' at the croc shows.

It's believed she was four months into a six-month 'croc course'.
