Ice addict allegedly lead police chase in stolen van on Tullamarine Freeway

An ice addict accused of causing chaos on the Tullamarine Freeway in a stolen van has faced court charged with more than two dozen offences.

Mouhamed Abdou had allegedly taken almost a gram of the drug "ice" in the hours before he was accused of getting behind the wheel of this stolen van.

The 24-year-old faced Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court following Sunday’s chaos on the Tullamarine Freeway.

Fifteen vehicles were damaged, as Abdou allegedly tried to evade police.

However, court documents reveal he tried to blame the armed officers as he was being arrested, saying: “Look what you f***ing police have done now, it's your f***ing fault for blocking the freeway".

Abdou is facing 25 charges, after police spotted him in the allegedly stolen van in Broadmeadows.

He is accused of breaking into a Hastings home 11 hours earlier, as a family of six was sleeping.

He allegedly stole keys from the parents' bedroom and escaped with a number of items including the van.

He was on bail for other offences at the time and a warrant had been issued for his arrest.

The court heard Abdou is currently withdrawing from his ice addiction and is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

He was remanded until his next court appearance in February.
