The video has reached over 18,000 views on YouTube in just one day, however for the people of Chennai, this display of beauty is a rare example of good news in their city of late.

Chennai is experiencing its worst rainfall in 100 years, with a combination of weather patterns and poor storm water drainage to blame to the rise in water levels.

Locals are concerned stagnant sewage water around the city will lead to diseases.

India’s Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj shared with her Twitter followers what her department is doing to help victims of the flooding.
