12-year-old charged after alleged knife attack at Caboolture school

A 12-year-old girl has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged knife attack at a Caboolture school.

Police allege at 9.15am, the 12-year-old threatened another girl, also 12, with a knife.

It's further alleged a struggle ensued between the two, and the victim sustained minor injuries to her neck and hands.

A member of staff intervened and disarmed the girl.

The Caboolture girl was charged with attempted murder and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Nov 30 - Schoolgirl, 12, attacks fellow pupil with a knife at a Caboolture school. Victim, also 12, suffers wounds to her face and hands.

Nov 24 - Schoolboy, 15, is stabbed close to his school at Miami, on the Gold Coast, in an incident allegedly involving a former pupil.

Nov 10 - Schoolgirl, 12, stabs a 13-year-old boy in the chest at Coombabah State High School on the Gold Coast.

Aug 11 - Schoolboy, 14, is disarmed by staff after using a hunting knife to threaten a fellow pupil at Townsville's Pimlico State High School.

2013
Sept 4 - Boy 16, charged with stabbing another boy, 14, in the chest at a learning centre next to a public school at Inala in Brisbane.

Aug 29 - Schoolboy, 14, charged with attempting to murder another boy, 15, by stabbing him in the neck with a knife in the auditorium of Mt Maria College at Mitchelton in Brisbane. Accused was sentenced to three years' juvenile detention.
