Riders cage in 4WD in NSW road rage boilover
A tense encounter between the driver of a 4WD and two motorcyclists in Wollongong has erupted into a physical confrontation, dash cam video reveals.
The three men came to blows at Warrawong after the driver allegedly performed a dangerous pass on the motorcyclists, leading them to attempt to box in the driver shortly afterwards.
The driver is seen from the camera, mounted on the dashboard of a second car, jumping out of his door and rushing towards on of the riders to throw a punch.
He appears to retreat but remains on the road as a second passenger exits his car and the two motorcyclists rush forward.
The footage was posted to the popular Facebook group Dash Cam Owners Australia with a message that said the incident would not end in charges for any of the men involved.
“After a long day with the riders and speaking to Police, no charges are being laid by the rider against the driver of the Toyota as the rider would also be charged with affray as the driver returned to his vehicle and the rider made the second contact first,” a message accompanying the video said.
“How this started was the two riders were coming out of the car park (not seen on camera), one rider went past and the second rider let the Toyota pass, as they came up to stopping, the second rider lane filtered (not seen on camera) to be next to the first rider, and the Toyota didn't like that and then this followed.”
