UK eatery gives man year worth of free socks for toilet mishap

A UK burger restaurant has apologised to a customer after a hand dryer blew urine on to his shoes and pants.

The Daily Mail reported Gordie Wallace, 31, was out on a date with his girlfriend Claire Robertson, 21, to celebrate the launch of his new business.

The couple had just finished their dinner at Handmade Burger in Aberdeen when Mr Wallace went to the toilet.

Hot air from the hand dryer, awkwardly placed above the toilet he was using, went off and splashed urine all over him.

Embarrassed, Mr Wallace took to Facebook to vent his fury. It was liked by more than 20,000 people.

'I was at the toilets after dinner and the hand dryer above the toilet caused the urine to spray onto my trainers and trousers,” he told the Daily Mail.

'I tried to dive out of the way of the stream but it was too late. My girlfriend heard me squeak from outside the door. I was so embarrassed that I immediately left.

Gordie Wallace shared his toilet issue to Facebook.

'I put a tongue-in-cheek post on their Facebook page and thought that nothing would come of it but the reaction has been really surprising.

He has since received an apology from Handmade Burger, who offered to make up for the incident.

They offered him a pair of trainers and a supply of socks every month for the next year.

Mr Wallace said the company had been great in dealing with his complaint.
