Clive Palmer donates luxury home to heartbroken family

Eccentric politician Clive Palmer usually makes headlines for all the wrong reasons, but every-so-often, he does manage to win hearts with a generous and heart-warming deed.

The multimillionaire magnate, and Palmer United Party (PUP) leader, has come to the aid of devastated Logan couple Belinda Warwick and Jared Campbell who lost their little boy and all of their belongings in a tragic blaze, which also destroyed their rented Beenleigh home.

Mr Palmer has kindly promised to pay the rent for six months on a luxury five bedroom Gold Coast home.

Louie Naumovski, from the Logan House Fire Support Network, said Mr Palmer came forward with the generous offer just a day after the tragic blaze, but he wanted to remain anonymous.

"We received a phone call the day after the tragic fire and it was from Mr Clive Palmer himself," he said.

Offers of assistance have flooded in since the tragedy.

The heartbroken family of seven had originally been relocated from Beenleigh to Hillcrest following the donation of another rental property.

Furniture, clothes and appliances have also been donated by the community following an online fundraising campaign.

A fundraising page has raised more than $100,000 for the family.
