Australia v India: fourth Test, Day One in Sydney as it happened

Australia reached stumps on day one of the fourth Test between Australia and India in Sydney at 2 for 348 with Steve Smith and Shane Watson still at the crease.

After winning the toss, Australia decided to bat, and openers David Warner and Chris Rogers took a toll on the Indian bowling in the first session as Australia reached lunch at 0 for 123.

Warner fell immediately after reaching his century before Rogers was bowled just five runs shy of his and Smith set about continuing Australia's dominance alongside Watson.

The pair survived to the end of the day with Smith 82 not out and Watson 61 not out.
