Adelaide man struck by machete during home attack

Three men armed with a machete have attacked an Adelaide man in his home, police say.

The 43-year-old man was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

At about 3:30am (ACDT), three intruders entered the man's home at Bridgewater in the Adelaide Hills.

The victim was struck in the head several times, before the intruders fled.

Detectives from Mount Barker CIB and Crime Scene Investigators were called and investigations are continuing.

Police said the victim has not been able to provide police with a statement at this stage, however they do not believe this was a random incident.
