CFA fails on Vic fire response times

The Country Fire Authority is failing to meet target response times for structural fire emergencies, a report has revealed.

Fire crews met their benchmark response times in just 88 per cent of cases, falling below their 90 per cent target.

But the CFA's annual report, tabled in the Victorian parliament on Thursday, revealed the organisation is beating target response times for road accidents.

Crews responded within benchmark times for road accident rescues in 94 per cent of cases, beating the 90 per cent target.

The CFA is just the latest emergency service organisation to reveal its response time failures.

Ambulance Victoria's annual report, released earlier in the week, showed they too fell short of target response times.
