Jockey critical after horse fall in Qld

A jockey is fighting for her life in a central Queensland hospital after falling off her horse.

Carly-Mae Pye was rushed to Rockhampton Hospital on Monday morning after she fell during barrier trials at Callaghan Park.

Paramedics treated her on the track before she was taken to the hospital's intensive care unit.

Racing Queensland CEO Darren Condon said the racing community's thoughts were with the injured jockey.

Counselling has been offered to those who witnessed the incident, a Racing Queensland statement said.
