Armed man forces Gold Coast street closure
A man armed with two knives has forced a Gold Coast street into lock down.
The man has been holed up in a house for more than five hours and is threatening self-harm.
It's believed he's the only person in the property on Greenacre Drive in Parkwood.
Police say the man is known to them and has a history of mental illness.
Negotiators are talking to him, while neighbours are being advised to remain in their homes.
