WA man burnt in hash oil production shed

A 32-year-old West Australian man has suffered burns to 70 per cent of his body in an explosion in a backyard shed where hash oil was being produced.

Police searched the Glen Iris property, south of Perth, after reports of the explosion on Tuesday afternoon, finding items used in the manufacture of hash oil, a small quantity of cannabis, smoking implements and a round of live ammunition.

The injured man was flown to Royal Perth Hospital while a 30-year-old man will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date for possessing cannabis, possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing unlicensed ammunition.

Police say inquiries into the incident continue.
