Qld police taser armed man
Police have tasered a man who armed himself with a knife and a bottle on the Gold Coast.
Police went to a Hope Island home on Monday after reports of a disturbance about 8.30pm (AEST).
When officers arrived a man went into the house and emerged, armed with the knife and bottle, police said.
When he refused to drop the weapons, police fired a Taser at the man to subdue him.
The 43-year-old has been charged with going armed so as to cause fear and two counts of serious assault of police. He'll face the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
