Man critical after roof fall in NSW

A worker is fighting for his life after falling through a pergola roof on the NSW south coast.

Police say two men were carrying out paid roof restoration work at a Sussex Inlet property on Sunday afternoon when they fell through the roof.

The pair were working on a pergola at the back of a property.

One man, 53, suffered serious head injuries and was airlifted to St George Hospital.

He is in a critical condition.

The second 50-year-old man was not injured.
