A swimmer has gone missing from a beach on NSW's north.
The 26-year-old man was reported missing from Smokey Cape Beach in Hat Head National Park shortly after 4pm.
Police and rescue authorities mounted a sea and air search for the man, but were unable to find him.
The search was called off about 8pm as darkness set in.
Police say the search will resume on Wednesday morning.
