Police officers hurt in Monash Freeway crash

A police car has been involved in a collision with a truck on the Monash Freeway.

The accident happened outbound near Huntingdale Road, at around 9.15am, when the police car was reportedly on its way to another crash.

It's believed it was clipped from behind by a semi trailer and then swerved into a safety barrier.

A man and a woman, believed to be police officers, received minor injuries and were treated at the scene, according to reports.

VicRoads has warned of delays in both directions, with traffic heavy outbound to East Malvern and inbound back to Springvale and Ferntree Gully Roads.

The crash happened just minutes after an multi-vehicle accident at Warrigal Road.
