LNP takes Australia's most marginal seat

The Liberal Party's Sarah Henderson will win Australia's most marginal seat, Corangamite, in Victoria's southwest.

Former journalist Sarah Henderson is leading with 46.24 per cent of the vote, with 55.58 per cent of ballots counted.

The seat has been held by Labor MP Darren Cheeseman with a 0.3 per cent majority - the nation's most marginal seat.

Ms Henderson told 7News earlier: "We have run a solid campaign over some 15 months. We're very proud of our efforts here tonight

"It's been a very anxious day, but we got a very positive vibe. It's wonderful to see that swing come through."

Meanwhile, the Greens have retained their only seat in the House of Representatives with MP with Adam Bandt retaining the inner-city seat of Melbourne.

More to come.
