Workers fired over 60m high plank

Taking the craze to new heights, two workers have been fired after planking 60 metres in the air on top of a mining plant's smoke stacks.

The pair were immediately sacked by Santos in Whyalla as it was deemed their actions were extremely dangerous.

This comes after workers at a McDonald's restaurant were fired after planking on the job, and other reports of dismissals due to the craze were also reported.

The internet sensation, which involves lying face flat down and rigid while being photographed in a number of different places, has taken the world by storm and is being performed all over the country.

Last week, a man fell from the seventh floor of an apartment building after he attempted to plank on a 5cm wide balcony railing.

Sam Newman also caused a stir when he was controversially pictured planking on the railing of his 40th floor apartment balcony.
