Kiss of life saves pet goat

A man gave his pet goat the 'kiss of life' after finding it hanging by a chain from a balcony.

John Bond said "Boots" broke away from his tethering and found his way upstairs to a first floor balcony at the family home in Buronga, near Mildura, the Mildura Weekly reports.

The animal's tongue was hanging out, his eyes were glassed over and he wasn't breathing.

But thankfully Mr Bond recalled a TV programme giving advice on resuscitating animals, and he bolted into action, encouraged by his wife who was screaming 'Do something'.

"It had choked itself to death," Mr Bond told the Mildura Weekly.

"If Judy hadn't kept screaming for me to do something, I would have given it up as a lost cause."

"I remembered from the television program that you had to cover the animal's nostrils as well, so there I was, trying to kiss Boots back to life."

A few minutes later, Boots' started to show signs of life.

His eyes flickered, and he started to breathe.

Boots was sick and suffered problems with his sight for a couple for days after his near death experience, but he said to be on the mend now.

"Now it's as good as gold," Mr Bond gushed.

Delighted with her husband's life saving performance, Mrs Bond rewarded him with a bottle of whiskey.

"That alone was worth it," he said.
