Firebug targets Davoren Park church, clinic
A firebug has torched part of a church and then a sexual health clinic at Davoren Park late last night.
Just after 11 o'clock last night, police patrols discovered the back room of the Cornerstone Uniting Church on Peachey Rd ablaze.
Fire crews were able to quickly put out the blaze and contain it to the back room of the building.
A short time later, police patrols discovered another fire, this time at a sexual health clinic about 100 metres from the church, down Peachey Rd.
The fire damaged a pergola area at the back of the building, and left the inside of the clinic untouched.
No one was injured in either fire.
Cornerstone Uniting Church parishoner, Ruth De Boar said it's disappointing people enjoy setting Churches alight.
"It happens quite often around here," she said.
"We do get targeted, but I just think it's a minority of maybe young kids that just haven't got anything better to do."
