Canada's Trudeau talks to Trump, offers help to deal with Harvey

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke to U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday and offered to help with the recovery effort in Texas, which has been hard hit by Hurricane Harvey, Trudeau's office said.

"The Prime Minister offered his condolences to all those affected by Hurricane Harvey. (He) also offered Canadian assistance to support the response and recovery efforts," it said in a brief statement, which gave no details.
