Woman bitten and 'handcuffed' by pet python
A woman who was bitten by her pet python found herself in a tricky situation when the reptile wound itself around her wrists, handcuffing her and leaving her calling for help in the middle of the night.
The Sunshine Coast woman was forced to awaken her roommate at 3am to help her remove the snake but, unable to assist her, he called a snake catcher for help.
Stuart McKenzie, owner of The Snake Catcher 24/7, received the call for help and while others may have been terrified of the situation, he described it as ‘hilarious’.
He posted the surprising image on his Facebook page on Thursday.
“This story will make you laugh,” he wrote.
“So I received a call at 3am this morning from a guy who woke up due to the screams of his roommate who had been bitten by her pet Black Headed Python. She was handling the snake when it bit her on the thumb and proceeded to constrict her hands together so she was basically handcuffed and couldn't get it off.
“This is a first for me where I have had to help people over the phone to get their own pet python off themselves.”
It took 20 minutes to free her hands from the pesky pet, which was quickly put back in its enclosure.
Black headed pythons are non-venomous and both the snake and the owner are safe.
