Tony Abbott sure does love eating raw onions

New video suggests that chomping down on raw onions may be a long loved habit of Prime Minister Tony Abbott.

Mr Abbott made headlines around the world earlier this year when he took an impromptu taste-test of a raw onion, while touring a produce farm in Tasmania.

He then shocked audiences again the following week, when he ate his second raw and unpeeled onion, while meeting the CEO of Onions Australia in Canberra.

It seams that Mr Abbott has been happily chewing on raw onions for years.

The vision, released by the ABC, shows the Prime Minster casually nibbling on "another member of the onion family" during a 2011 visit to an onion farm in Queensland.

Mr Abbott is seen standing with four other men in a field, as he bites into what is believed to be a raw spring onion.

While his unusual choice of snack has left audiences stunned, he is not the first politician to make headlines for his odd behaviour.
