A bitter woman who was offered a free meal by Audi after they damaged her car, has racked up an “excessive” $1300 bill at a luxury restaurant.

London woman Siobhan Yap, 27, was offered a dinner for two after her Audi A3 convertible was hit while parked at one of their dealerships.

The dealership repaired Ms Yap’s car, which she had bought second hand and gave her a courtesy car to use.

To apologise Audi offered her the meal for two but did not declare how much she could spend or where she could go.

In a cheeky act of revenge, Ms Yap decide to take her mother to the most expensive place she could think of, L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Covent Garden.

By the time they were done eating Ms Yap had racked up a bill of 700GDP ($1334.14AUD).

When she returned to Audi to demand payment for her “freebie” the dealership told her the bill was too much and offered to pay half.

In response she told them they should have given her a price limit.

During the meal the pair enjoyed four glasses of champagne, two bottles of wine, six cocktails and some gin.

They also tried small tasting dishes including the La Truffle Noire, St Jacques scallops and La Volatille risottos.

Ms Yap told media that she felt Audi should’ve paid the whole bill as she had to send the car back for further repairs.

"They put me through a lot of stress and it was a really nice restaurant," Ms Yap said.

A spokesman from Watford Audi told BBC News that it was an “excessive expenditure for two diners", but as it was "keen to make amends for the incident" they agreed to cover half the bill.

"We believe this is a fair and reasonable amount given the circumstances, and we stand by the decision taken," the spokesman said.
