A man accused of raping a woman he met on a dating app told her “girls say no but they don’t really mean it,” a court has heard.

The Daily Mail reports Adam Leheup, 34, is standing trial for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman he met using the Let’s Date app.

Leheup denies the charges but the alleged victim told Blackfriars Crown Court that he raped her following their hours long date, despite her yelling, “no” several times.

In a statement to investigators the woman said: “'I told him nothing was going to happen but he started to kiss me and I could tell he was naked,” she said.

“He took my clothes off and was on top of me and penetrated me and I was shouting: "No" a lot, but he was not listening.”

The alleged attack occurred after Leheup missed the last train home and returned to the woman’s flat at Camden.

The pair had been together for hours after visiting bars following their meeting earlier in the night.

She said she had demanded Leheup leave her apartment following the alleged rape as her roommate threatened to call the police. According to her statement, Leheup laughed off the threat before leaving.

However, the defendant denied the charges, the court heard.

He told police the alleged victim had not objected to him touching her intimately but there had been no talk of sex.

Leheup did not deny climbing on top of her but “she then freaked out and as soon as she did he got off her,” the court heard.

Mr Leheup told police he exited the flat via scaffolding outside to avoid confrontation.

The trial continues.
