At least one home has tragically been destroyed by an out-of-control bushfire that is continuing to threaten lives and homes at Waroona in WA.

An emergency warning remains in place for the blaze, which is moving in a north-westerly direction, and the worst affected area appears to be Lyons Road.

The out of control and unpredictable fire is moving north, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services warns.

"Burning embers are likely to be blown around your home and spot fires are starting ahead of the fire," the DFES said in a statement on Saturday.

"If the way is clear, leave now for a safer place.

"Do not wait and see, leaving at the last minute is deadly."

An emergency relocation point has been established at the Harvey Town Hall, on the corner of Young Street and Uduk Street.

A community meeting has been scheduled there for 10am.

The DFES says 150 firefighters in 40 appliances are battling the blaze and protecting homes in northern Waroona. Aerial appliances are also on their way.
